"your Least Cost Route to Profitability"

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which switch manufactures does AutoLCR work with?
A: Currently, Auto LCR works with the Nextone / Nextpoint, Sanay and NetSapiens switches. Other switches are being considered.

Q: In my billing system, I have thousands of rates and codes, can AutoLCR handle this?
A: Easily.

Q: The rates for customers and carriers are already in our billing system, do I have to enter them again, into the LCR?
A: No. It's too hard and to error prone to maintain codes and rates in multiple systems. As part of the initial setup, an interface will be created to import the codes and rates from your billing system into the LCR database. We currently have interfaces in place for FastLink, PortaBilling, WebCDR, TeleDynamics and a number of in-house systems.

Q: Can the codes be different for each customer and carrier?
A: Absolutely. The system assumes that each customer and carrier will have different codes.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of codes?
A: There is no physical limit to the number of codes that can be defined to the system.

Q: Can the codes I sell be different from the codes I buy?
A: The system assumes that the sell codes and buy codes will be different.

Q: Can the codes be different for each customer and carrier?
A: Absolutely. The system assumes that each customer and carrier will have different codes.

Q: Does the routing stop when the codes/rates/carriers are updated?
A: No.

Q: What if I have two switches? Can I download from more than one switch?
A: Yes. The system is configured to download from multiple switches. If the switches are configured in a redundant cluster, the system will download from the active switch.

Q: If I have a Nextone and/or a Sansay and/or a NetSapiens, do I need different calling plans?
A: Absolutely NOT. One calling plan can be used for ALL switches regardless of manufacturer.

Q: Is there a limit to the number of endpoints/resources/connections that the LCR can handle?
A: No.

Q: What browser can be used to access the system?
A: Almost any modern browser. The browser needs to be able to support Java Scripting and Framesets which most, if not all, major browsers do.

Q: Can the reports handle a large number of records? Is there a limit to the number of records returned in a report?
A: No practical limit. Each report by default, shows the first two hundred records and has the ability to scroll forward or back and jump to any page or change the page size.

Q: Can the reports be sorted?
A: Yes. And quickly.

Q: Can access to the system be restricted by function?
A: Sure. Each user can be granted view, update or no access to each screen

Q: On my manual system, I need to assign the tiers for each inbound carrier and destination, do I still need to do this?
A: No. This is done automatically. The system will assign the highest priority to the least cost carrier.

Q: Can I adjust the routing parameters based on the inbound customer/carrier?
A: Yes. This is called a partition. Each inbound carrier is assigned to a partition and the routing parameters can be different for each partition.

Q: Can I block unprofitable routes?
A: Definitely. The partition can be set to allow only profitable routes to be connected.

Q: Can I block poorly performing destinations?
A: Yes. The system has the ability to block destinations at any level. Entire countries or just mobile codes or just cities or just proper....

Q: Can I override the system to allow a specific outbound carrier to get the call even though it's less profitable than another carrier?
A: Yes. Routing adjustments can be entered to change the priority of the outbound carriers.

Q: If I override the LCR and place a carrier first, will I lose money when the carrier's rate changes and the route is no longer profitable?
A: Only if you want to. You decide. You tell the system whether to automatically block when it becomes unprofitable or to continue to route.

Q: My current system has a limit to the number of tiers that can be defined, is there a limit to the number of tiers?
A: No. The system has an unlimited number of tiers per destination.
